Optical and computer vision engineering

Dr. Lertvilai is a postdoctoral scholar at University of California San Diego. His interests lie at the intersection of computer vision technology, data science, photography and nature exploration.
He has led several research and engineering projects on development on underwater optical instruments to study the biological and physical dynamics of the ocean. He is currently leading a data science project that utilizes deep learning framework to analyze a large image dataset from an underwater microscope.
In addition to his research work, he also works on several engineering projects that utilize computer vision and sensor networks to help him explore the environment. He is also a nature photographer who custom-made his own tools and has received several awards and press for his photos.
